We are in Kindermusik International's top 1% of programs of more than 5,000 locations world-wide! In fact, we are 16th in the world! When you choose an Uptown Musik Kindermusik class, you're choosing a ten-time award winning music program for your child. We will sing, dance, imagine, and play instruments together. We'll learn musical terms, but to your child it just feels like a magical, musical world. Our teachers are hand-picked with music degrees, years of experience working with children, are teachers in public schools, or all of the above. We hope to see you soon!
Sharnice Taylor
Sharnice grew up in Beckley, WV and moved to the Huntington area to attend Marshall University. There she obtained a psychology degree with a minor in marketing. After graduation, she spent 6 semesters teaching tap, jazz, and contemporary dance styles as an adjunct professor in Marshall’s School of Theatre and Dance. Sharnice became an instructor at True Impact (Barboursville, WV) in 2018 and the Macholah Ballet (Scott Depot, WV) in 2020. In summer of 2021, Sharnice joined Uptown as a dance instructor. By the end of summer, she licensed as a GroovaRoo (baby-wearing dance) and Kindermusik instructor as well. Sharnice helped establish a Kindermusik partnership with Macholah in 2023: “Musik at the Mac,” offering Kindermusik classes in the Teays Valley. Sharnice currently serves as manager of Uptown Musik and Fine Arts. Sharnice serves as a board member for the nonprofit Appalachian Children’s Music and Arts Foundation.
